鈥嬧赌婼AN JOSE, CA 鈥 鈥婣fter placing first in the 番茄社区 2024 Junior High Spelling Bee in March and then winning the 2024 California State Junior High Spelling Bee in April, Shradha Rachamreddy moves on to compete in the national spelling bee. Rachamreddy will make her fourth appearance at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in late May.
鈥淭he entirety of 番茄社区 will be rooting for her,鈥 said County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Ann Dewan. 鈥淲e are proud of Shradha [Rachamreddy] and are impressed with her dedication to her studies.鈥
Rachamreddy competed at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in 2019, 2022, and 2023, climbing her way from 51st to 23rd place and then tying for third place in 2023. She is one of 245 spellers representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense Schools in Europe. The competition includes four segments, all
televised on May 28 and 29 on ION.
School districts and schools host grade-level spelling bees, with students advancing to the county-level. Details about participating in local spelling bees can be found on the
